Basic Rules of Google Solitaire

Google Solitaire online follows the same basic rules as traditional Solitaire, also known as Klondike Solitaire. Here are the fundamental rules:

Objective

The main goal of Solitaire is to move all cards to the foundation piles, which are arranged by suit in ascending order from Ace to King.

The Setup

  • Tableau: The tableau consists of seven columns. The first column has one card, the second has two cards, and so on, up to the seventh column, which has seven cards. Only the top card of each tableau pile is face-up, while the others are face-down.
  • Stock: The remaining cards are placed face-down in the stock pile.
  • Waste: Cards from the stock that cannot be moved to the tableau or foundation are placed in the waste pile.
  • Foundations: There are four foundation piles, each starting with an Ace and built up in ascending order by suit.

Gameplay

  • Move Cards within the Tableau: You can move cards within the tableau by arranging them in descending order and alternating colors (e.g., a red 9 on a black 10).
  • Reveal Hidden Cards: When you move a face-up card, you can reveal the face-down card beneath it.
  • Build Foundations: Move Aces to the foundation piles as they become available, and continue building in ascending order by suit.
  • Stock and Waste: Draw cards from the stock one at a time and place them in the waste pile. You can move the top card of the waste pile to the tableau or foundation if possible.
